As you may be kindly aware, ICAI through its Direct Taxes Committee endeavors to strengthen the relationship between the tax payers and the revenue administration by submitting representations on various issues arising out of direct tax laws. In an endeavor to facilitate improved e-filing portal, the department has provided a taxpayer friendly feature of “e-facility to check tax and computation sheet for demand raised by Assessing Officer”.
This facility enables assessees to view tax and computation sheet for demand raised by AO in the e- filing portal. The assessee can now verify his return with the computation sheet and check the difference and revert accordingly to the department. Assessee needs to request for resend of intimation in the portal where demand is raised by CPC or contact jurisdictional Assessing Officer where demand is raised manually outside the system. The detailed procedure is as under:
1. Visit e-filing portal at incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
2. Login account details
3. Select e-filing response to outstanding tax demand.
4. Click on download button next to demand amount to download the details in pdf format.

In this regard, members and assesses may find the aforesaid feature introduced by CBDT of significant importance.
