Procedure to get Certified Copies in CA Exams

Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has introduced a new facility for the students.By notification issued by the ICAI , now students can obtain the copies of their answer sheets.This scheme is open to all levels of CA examination.This article will discuss aspects covered by this facility.It will also explain the procedure in detail.

Aspects covered :

Verification as facilitated under this procedure would check on

• Whether any question not valued, including any subsections
• Whether there are totaling errors or totaling error on the cover page
• Whether there is mismatch in stepwise marks allotted and total marks per question on the cover page

However , revaluation is not permitted under these regulations , which facilitates inspection of answer sheets.

Procedure to get Certified Copies in CA Exams Answer Sheets

• Application has to be made in the prescribed format along with DD ( Demand Draft) for Rs 500/- with address as mentioned below (For format ,Click Here

The Deputy Secretary (Exams), The Institute of Chartered Accountants Of India, ICAI Bhavan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi – 110002

The application should be superscribed with name of the exam.

• The application should reach the institute within 30 days from the date of result declaration.This is because there is no provision to submit such application with late fees.Refer the ICAI website for updated fees.
• Such application can also be made online on http://icaiexam.icai.org along with payment of fees by debit card or credit card.online submission of application ensures speedy process.
• The Institute is required to provide with certified copies or verified copies within 30 days from date of receipt of the application.
• There is no need to apply for certified copies and verification of answer sheets.The institute will suo moto , carry out verification even if certified copies are required by applicant.
• Application for certified copies shall be handwritten and duly signed.Even in case of online application , applicant is required to upload scanned copy of the handwritten application.

Same requirement applies to declaration to be attached along with such application.

• In case , the applicant observes any discrepancy or error in marks totaling or inclusion as mentioned in aspects covered section above, he can apply to office within 1 month of dispatch of the certified copies.
• No certified copies or verification will be performed for

1. Applicants results are withheld or cancelled or not declared
2. Applicants against whom unfair means cases are reported

• ICAI has the discretionary right to refuse the request for certified copies , if it has reason to believe that such request has malicious intention.
• If the applicant is found guilty of any misuse of certified copies , then he will be liable for punishment like debarment from examination.
• Currently the applicants are provided with photocopies of answer sheets.With a view to ensure speedy delivery , ICAI has come up with new facility to provide the soft copy of the answer sheets.Hence there will be no delivery of physical answer sheets.

According to this new facility , applicant can view the soft copies at their convenience however, not after than 10 days from date of hosting.

As a step towards digitization , ICAI has introduced with new facility , whereby the applicants can have certified copies in soft format.The students hence, can afford this facility from anywhere by applying online and receiving the copies online.
